Clothing

There are many clothing choices for Modern Square Dance. On class nights, most ladies wear jeans or pants; men also dress casually. But on party nights or when attending jamborees and social events, the ladies wear the traditional crinolines and full circle skirts or the more modern prairie skirts. The men usually wear long-sleeved button-up (often western-style) shirts.

Footwear

Choose any style of soft-soled shoes that are comfortable and do not leave black marks on the floors. Then carry your dancing shoes into the dance hall and put them on inside. Do not wear your dancing shoes outside because they can get sand, snow or salt on them which could damage the dance-hall floor.
